Two cases registered under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act against the jailed Rashtriya Janatha Dal leader’s daughter, Misa Bharati, are likely to be considered by the Delhi High Court on February 5, as the Enforcement Directorate has completed their probe and successfully filed the charge sheets in both cases.
Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter Misa Bharati, Misa’s husband Shailesh Kumar, Surendra Kumar Jain, Virendra Jain and a Chartered Accountant, Rajesh Agrawal, are the prime accused in the cases investigated by the Enforcement Directorate officials.
All these accused were questioned by the investigators in connection with the case. The statements of those questioned were recorded in the charge sheet clearly.
The investigators conducted raids in several properties owned by a company, in which Misa Bharati and her husband were once directors.
It seems that the Bihar politics is at present in a very crucial juncture. It is not clear whether the corruption allegations raised against the powerful leader of the state and his family members would affect the strength of the party he leads and the politics he preaches.
But, the past lessons teach us that no corruption can taint the image of charismatic leader Lalu Prasad Yadav.
