The country today is celebrating the 148th birth anniversary of the father of our nation, Mahatma Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.
On this special day of pride and happiness, the Indian President, Ram Nath Kovind, Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have paid floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.
No word is adequate to describe the great leader’s contributions. Indians owe him for the freedom that we are enjoying. The freedom is actually the fruit of the decades-long struggles the leaders like ‘Bapu’ led.
Mahatma, who was born in 1869 in the Indian state of Gujarat, is still regarded as one of the most powerful icons of the democracy and freedom.
Apart from the beloved legend, someone else is also remembered today. India’s second Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri’s birth anniversary is also on October 2. The leaders have also paid floral tribute to him.
The PM has used his twitter handle to inform the nation that he has paid floral tribute to these two great leaders.
In the tweet message in which he has described the father of the nation, the PM has written that Mahatma’s noble ideals motivate millions of people living across the world.
The PM has also said, in another tweet message, that the second PM inspires soldiers and farmers alike.
