Online child abuse rate is on the rise: Europol

The shocking information discovered by the Europe’s police agency reveals that the online child sex abuse rate is on the rise.As per the report, some modern technologies enable the perpetrators of the online crime to hide their original identity. It is identified that the online criminals mostly use fake ids and codes while doing criminal activities through the online platform.Now, in this generation, millions and millions of children from around the world enjoy direct and constraint-less access to the online platforms.It is estimated that by the year 2020, the cyber crimes will surpass the traditional crimes, like robbery, theft, and murder. In Europe, the cyber crime rate has already surpassed the traditional crime rate.The Euro pol report opined that the government agencies must install advanced technologies to foil the online crimes.It further added that a huge investment is needed to install such advanced technologies.The report identified that the online criminals are mostly targeting the social media platforms and online game platforms, in which they can easily find vulnerable pray.

Moreover, the online live streaming platforms, where a vulnerable individual can easily be trapped by a trained technical criminal, poses a huge threat to the children frequently using these websites.Earlier, Philippines was highly vulnerable to the child sex abuse crimes. Now, with the advent of the new online technologies, the innocent children from across the world are equally vulnerable to this inhuman crime.Anyway, it is the high time for the law making and implementing agencies to articulate a concrete solution to the issue.
