An Oxford faculty and renowned Islamic scholar, Tariq Ramada, has been accused of sexual assault by two women.
The identities of the victims have not been released officially by the authorities as one of the women has requested anonymity.
Meanwhile, the other victim has come openly before the media personals. She has claimed that the “Harvey issue” and the social campaigns triggered by the issue have emboldened him to disclose her identity and the identity of the influential person who attacked her.
When she disclosed the mishap for the first time a couple of years ago, she showed reluctance (might be, because of fear) to publicise the name of the perpetrator of the crime.
The accused is a very powerful Islamic scholar. He is the grandson Hassan al-Banna, who is the founder of Muslim Brotherhood. He is the propagator and advocate of modern ‘Political Islam’.
He has been working in the popular Oxford University since the year 2009. At present, he is on a temporary leave.
As per the latest updates, the accused have been questioned by the French police in connection with the case.
The police authorities have not yet publicised any details of the investigation. Anyway, if proved guilty, he would face serious punishment.
