In order to officially express the disagreement of the Palestinian people over the United States’ move to recognise Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, the Palestinian government is set to disqualify the White House as co-sponsor of the peace process in the disputed city, which is a sacred city for Jews and Muslims alike.
A couple of days after the occurrence of the United State President’s announcement stating his government’s intention to change decades-old US Policy on Israel and Palestine in the pretext of showing justice to the election campaign promises made by the Republicans, the Palestinian government representatives has asserted that they would not welcome the US Vice-President, Mike Pence, who is expected to reach later this month to meet the Palestinian President, Mohmoud Abbas, to resume the peace process.
Subsequently, worsening the political situation in the region, the US has indirectly threatened the Palestinian government against the latter’s move to express their disagreement by scrapping the proposed meeting.
Meanwhile, the Hamas, the radical Muslim group which recently embraced the path of peace, ditching their hard-earned quality of peace, has urged its followers to prepare for a new uprising or a direct confrontation.
Several Arab and Western nations, such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia, UK, France and Germany, have disagreed with the US’ new move. Some of them have even warned that this move would only help in gifting miseries to the people living in the disturbed regions of Jerusalem.
