Producers withdraw their Kannada movie as woman comes with sexual harassment allegation against its director

The producers of a upcoming Kannada movie has halted the release of their movie as a woman who, as per the preliminary assumption, worked in the movie, has come up with a serious sexual harassment allegation against its director.

The identity of the lady has not been publicised yet. One thing is clear that what has been raised against the director is a very serious allegation.

The film was scheduled to be released during the festival season. The latest developments indicate that the film would not be released in the near future.

The film is the debut film of the accused director. The expectation for the film was very high, compared to other Kannada films scheduled to be released in this season.

The action of the producers has given clear message that they never tolerate any kind of sexual harassment against women in the set of the films produced by them. The producers have indirectly indicated that they would take serious action against the director.

The director has not yet made a public statement about the issue. Notably, he has not yet denied the allegation surfaced against him as a part of the ‘#MeToo Campaign’.
