Chetan Bhagat is one of the most promising English writers the country has ever witnessed. He has written seven fictions and non-fiction novels. Most of his fictions have created serious impact in the industry. Some of his novels, including Half Girlfriend and Three Idiots, have been adapted for making Bollywood films.
His first novel was published by the Rupa Publication; he suffered several rejections from the publishing houses until the Rupa came forward with an offer to publish his book.
Since then, the writer has been closely associated with the publishing house. At least seven novels and two collections of essays of the writer have been published by the Rupa & Co Publishing House.
There are rumours that Mr Bhagat is planning to severe his tie with the Rupa Publication which the writer has been maintaining for last fourteen years.
As per a report, the Half Girlfriend’s writer is likely to ink a deal with the Amazon-Westland after ditching his present publishing partner.
A source has informed a national media that the writer is likely to get a huge signing amount as part of the deal.
The source has added that the deal would be signed in Singapore. The rumour that the writer and his family are currently in Singapore gives wings to the information shared by the source.
There are reports that the Rupa is also trying its level best to retain its most popular and most powerful writer.
