Letting the world know about the unfortunate incidences happening in Myanmar in the name of security precaution against the Rohingya Muslim community, the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, has formally acknowledged that the act of, so called, ethnic cleansing allegedly happening in the Asian country, which is ruled by Nobel prize laureate Aung San Suu Kyi’s party, is a serious ‘catastrophic humanitarian issue’.
Inviting the West’s intervention to resolve the issue at the earliest, Mr Guterres has condemned the Burmese army’s attacks on the villages where the Rohingya Muslims traditionally settled.
Anyway, as per the latest report, the United Nations Security Council has asked the concerned to initiate urgent measures to resolve the crisis.
Meanwhile, the Myanmar government and the security persons have asserted that they have not attacked any civilians intentionally and they are fighting militancy.
In the recent past, due to the sudden outbreak of violence in the Rohingya villages, nearly tens of thousands of the people belonging to the minority community were either displaced or killed.
There have been reports that since the emergence of the disturbance nearly tens of thousands of migrants have reached the refugee camps located in the Bangladesh region.
Several neighbouring countries, mostly Muslim dominated countries, have condemned the irresponsible action of the Myanmar government.
