Russian activist Ildar Dadin tortured in prison

Through an emotional letter, Mr Ildar Dadin, a renowned activist, informed his wife that he is not afraid of dying, but he is afraid of not being able to tolerate the torture.  The letter was a clear indication on what is actually happening in this Russian activist’s life.  As we all know, this renowned activist is serving a sentence for a series of street protest, which he either organised or participated. In last December, he was sentenced under a controversial law introduced by the Russian government to suppress the dissident voices. According to the Article 212.1 under the Russian law, the continuous violation on the Russian law on the street is a criminal offense. Anyway, for conducting the continuous street protest, this activist has to serve nearly two and half year in prison. In the letter, the activist extensively explained the torture methods used by the merciless officials. Meanwhile, the Russian authorities denounced the allegations raised by the Russian activist. They believe that the famous activist is trying to gain more publicity. When contacted by an acclaimed journalist, the Russian prison officials asserted that such a brutal incident will not happen inside the Russian prison. But, the officials reluctantly admitted that the activist was placed in an isolated prison. The officials also defended that move by saying the activist was placed in an isolated prison because he violated the prison rules. Anyway, the incident is inviting the global attention into the atrocities happening inside the Russian prisons.
