The former public protector of South Africa, Thuli Mandonsela, who retired from the service after her seven-year-long career on last day, could not submit her investigative report against the South African President, Jacob Zuma. The office of the Public Protector is one of the strongest authorities of South Africa. It is an external state institution. This office investigates misconduct in any state affairs. For last few years, Thuli has been attacking the Zuma-led SA government strongly. She also faced severe criticism from several quarters of the ruling administration due to the nature of her job. Notably, she never succumbed before the threats and provocations. She strongly attacked the government and, even, the supremo. In one of her previous investigative report, she indicated that the supremo misused the state fund. Followed by that, the President of South Africa had to repay the money. Now, in her new, sensational, report, it is said that an Indian-born business family enjoys enormous powers in the SA government. The report added that the business family, even, indirectly influences the appointment and dismissal of the ministers. On last day, the SA supremo had acquired a court order blocking the publication of the report. The retired Public Protector was about to publish the report on last day. She admitted that the court order blocked her from publishing the report. While talking to the medias, she hesitated to disclose the report’s prime contents. It is learned that some prime details of the report were leaked to the International medias. Both the SA President and business family denounced the allegations raised by the retired Public Protector. On 6 October 2016, the parliament elected the new Public Protector, Busisiwe Mkhwebane.
