Lactalis, the renowned baby milk formula manufacturing company based in France, has recalled their products, which have several satisfied customers globally, from the global market, after nearly twenty-six infants who have consumed the product have become sick.

It has been suspected that the products, manufactured in a unit located in northwest France since mid-February, have been contaminated with salmonella.

Though no consumer has been seriously injured due to the issue, the recall has been attributed as an initiative to avoid all possible dangers as the kids aged below six are involved.

Britain, China, Bangladesh and Sudan are the prime importers of this baby milk formula, which is very popular in France.

As per the latest report, nearly seven thousand tonnes milk formula have been contaminated. It has been confirmed that the recall would adversely affect the company’s credibility and acceptability and financial stability and growth.

Diarrhoea, stomach pain, vomiting and dehydration are the prime symptoms caused by the salmonella bacteria, which is commonly found in the intestine of the farm animals.

Anyway, the company has ordered a disinfection program to make sure that the equipments used in the affected unit are free from salmonella bacteria.

The International Organisations, particularly the World Health Organisation, should intervene in the issue and must make sure that all food manufacturers adhere to the safety procedures suggested by the quality testing authorities.
