Several relatives of Jailed AIADMK leader Sasikala face heat of I-T searches

After the conclusion of the five-days-long Income Tax department search operation in which several documents, money, diamonds and pieces of jewellery were recovered from the places belonging to the relatives of jailed AIADMK leader Sasikala, the I-T department has summoned several close relatives of the leader to sign the papers related to the raids.

As per the report, some of those summoned by the I-T department have sought more time to present before the officials in person.

Anyway, no person who has appeared before the I-T department has been questioned by the officials.

It is learned that the officials working in the department are verifying the documents and assessing the value of those assets such as diamonds and pieces of jewellery seized during the raids.

So far, the officials have detected the tax evasion of Rs. 1,430 crore. It is said that once they complete the process of verification, they will summon the concerned persons who are involved in the illicit act of tax evasion.

Last day, Vivek Jayaraman, the Managing Director of Jaya Tv, visited the I-T office to sign the papers related to the raid.

At this moment, it is not clear who all will get the summons of the I-T department which is investigating the case.
