Slovakian protests demand early election

The resignation of the Slovakian Prime Minister, Robert Fico, has not granted any kind of respite to the Slovakian protesters who have been protesting against the government over the killing of journalist Jan Kuciak and his fiancée, Martina Kusnirova, for last three weeks.

In this third week, the number of people who have assembled in the streets of Bratislava is much greater than the total number of protesters attended the previous week’s protest.

An International media house has reported that as many as sixty-five thousand protesters have participated in the protest.

As per the latest updates, in this third week, unlike the previous weeks, the anti-government protest has occurred in almost all cities located across the country.

In all protests which have taken place in the country, the protesters have demanded the announcement of an early election, dissolving the present government.

It seems that the protesters are not happy with the resigned PM’s move to appoint his close person in the post he has been forced to vacate due to the raising protest against his regime, and they suspect that the ousted PM would continue to enjoy the power as a de facto leader under a PM which has been inducted with the help of his support.

The murdered journalist was working on a story which portrays the relation with the country’s corrupted government and Italian based criminal gangs.

The murder of the journalist is widely seen as the murder of democracy, and as the clear example of the prevalence of corruption in the country under Mr Fico.
