Transgender woman who was assaulted in April found dead on street

Muhlaysia Booker, a transgender woman whose brutal attack was captured on video last April, was found dead in a street in Dallas.
Police were informed of a shooting in the 7200 block of Valley Glen Drive around 6:40 a.m. Saturday, Dallas Police Major Vincent Weddington said.Upon arrival, officers found the complainant lying face down in the street — deceased from homicidal violence,” Weddington said during a news conference on Sunday.

Last April, Booker was assaulted by several men in the parking lot of a Dallas apartment complex after what police said was a minor traffic incident. Video surfaced of the incident which showed the attackers uttering homophobic slurs as they repeatedly punched and kicked Booker while she was still on the ground.
