While reacting to a North Korean statement that the country is in the final stage in developing a nuclear weapon capable of reaching the United States, US president-elect Donald Trump has asserted that it would not happen. He has used his twitter handle to express his opinion over the issue. At this moment, it is not clear what he meant with his statement: ‘it would not happen’. There are two speculations. The first one is that the US future president has doubts about the capability of the North Korean forces and technology. The second speculation is that the US under the Republican supremo aims to create a strong missile defence system. In his statement, Trump has strongly criticised the Chinese government for failing to prevent its ally, North Korea, from making the dangerous nuclear weapons and missile system, which has been posing as a threat to the whole world.
He quips that the Chinese government utilises the support of US for their trade needs but never help our country on the real issues like NK. Earlier, while giving a New Year statement, the NK supremo Kim Jong-un claimed that they are close to testing long-range missiles and are one of the most powerful forces in the East. Moreover, he indirectly threatened the great powers saying no one could defeat his country now. Anyway, the technological experts denounced the claims made by NK, calling it as a joke.
