Turkey’s EU membership dreams fade as union is unhappy with Turk’s HR policy

The Turkey’s bid to enter the European Union met a serious crisis as the European Commission strongly accused Turkey of human rights violations. A report publicized by the European Commission observed that since a failed coup on July 15 the country has been witnessing serious backslidings in the Human Rights. It is learned that the Turkish semi-autocratic government has mercilessly arrested and tortured several people after the coup attempt. The arrest and custodial violence have become a common thing in the Arab nation. It is alleged that the nation is purposefully ignoring all parameters of human rights. The European Union and the European nations give prime importance to the human rights. It is learned that the Turkey’s accession to the European Union cannot be materialized unless and until this Arab nation improves its human rights index.

As per the European Commission’s report, the Turkish government is not marching towards the correct direction. Meanwhile, the Turkish authorities ridiculed the report and urged the EU to take a final decision on the Turkey’s accession to EU. Anyway, the European Union cannot completely ignore the Turkey’s proposal as the union needs this Arab nation’s support to sort out the migrant issue. An EU-Turkey migrant deal, inked in March, enables the Greece government to send back the migrants. The EU, at this moment, cannot even think of scraping that deal. Experts say that EU believes several policies including migrant policy would collapse drastically if it completely ignores Turkey. It seems that the EU would seek more time to decide on whether the union should admit Turkey into their group or not.
