A report released by a renowned South Indian based news daily has claimed that their reporters have received enough reasons to assume that Union Minister Alphons Kannanthanam, who is at present a Rajya Sabha member, will be asked to contest from Idukki in the upcoming General Election, in which the BJP, the party which has made Mr Kannanthanam the Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, Culture and Tourism, aims to create a powerful entry into the politics of the Southern State of Kerala.
There are also some interesting predictions in the report. The report has forecasted that the BDJS and JRS will be given important seats in the election. As per their assumption, BDJS leader Thushar Vellappally, the son of SNDP leader Vellappally Natesan, will contest from the Attingal constituency. At this moment, it is not clear which constituency will be offered to C K Janu, the leader of the JRS, the party the tribal leader launched shortly before she became a member of the BJP-led coalition in the previous election.
Anyway, the BJP has not made any officials statements on this regard. Can the Saffron Party be able to make an impact in the state’s electrical politics this time?
