US officials accuse Moscow of internet, network attacks

Some senior officials of the United States accused the Russian government of the internet and network attacks, which is allegedly targeting the destruction of the democratic institution of the world’s most powerful country. As per the report, the Russian hackers had hacked the political websites run by the major political parties of the country including the Democratic Party and Republican Party. The country is set to conduct the most awaited presidential elections this year. In this election, the Republican Party’s candidate, Donald Trump, will face the Democratic Party’s candidate, Hillary Clinton. Anyway, the frequent online and network attacks perpetrated by the pro-Russian hackers on the official websites of political parties and election agencies pose a great threat to the election procedure and system. Some US officials and political leaders strongly believe that at the behest of some top Russian officials the pro-Russian hackers are organising these attacks.

Meanwhile, the Russian official agencies denounce the allegation saying the statements released by the US officials are not making any sense. However, clarifying the stand adopted by the US government, a statement released by the Department of security and US’s National Intelligence Agency asserts that some top officials of the Russian government involved in the attacks being done on the US websites. Earlier, the pro-Russian hackers had hacked the official website of Democratic Party, and they publicised some most-sensitive data related to their internal administration. Unsurprisingly, a US parliamentarian demanded the European government’s help and co-operation in eliminating this crisis.
