“Will United States President Donald Trump be awarded with the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to pave an effective communication channel with North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un” is the big question needed to be answered by the world at this moment.
Recently, Mr Trump boasted that he was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by Japanese Prime Minster Shinzo Abe. He claimed that he received a letter from the Japanese PM regarding this matter.
When contacted, the Japanese authorities have confirmed that they have been informed by their sources about the US President’s comment. Importantly, they have neither denounced nor acknowledged the comment.
Interestingly, an International media house has reported that South Korean President Moon Jae-in has backed the Japanese decision to recommend the US supremo’s name for the prestigious prize.
Anyway, the US President was visibly happy when he publicised the Japan’s move. Meanwhile, in his statement, he questioned former US President Barak Obama’s right to hold the respected laurel. He quipped that when Obama was announced the winner of the prize even he was not aware why he was awarded.
The US President is set to meet the North Korean dictator for the second level meeting in Vietnam in few days.
The stability in the Korean peninsula is important for the peaceful existence of several satellite countries of the US in and around the peninsula, such as Japan and South Korea.
Actually, there is no surprise for the US pacific satellites’ attempt to crown Mr Trump with the Noble Peace Prize.
Is it right to misuse the prize for such petty political gains? Think!!!
