Zimbabwe, the country which in the resent past witnessed several political developments such as coup, is set to celebrate former president Robert Mugabe’s birthday as ‘National Youth Day’.

The report regarding the new decision have been officially publicised by the Zimbabwean government today.

Some, who support the new regime, say that the newly inducted supremo, Emmerson Mnangagwa, has great respect for the old dictator, who is his old boss. It is said that by taking such a decision, he is trying to publically show his respect.

Anyway, the critics have a different opinion. Some critics say that the supremo is trying to regain the support of a section of the party, mostly the youth leaders, which turned against him after the forced resignation of the former president was systematically implemented.

In the near future, the new leader is likely to announce who all will be there in his ministry. He is expected to include all stakeholders in his interim government.

It is clear that the nation wants a change. At this moment, it is not clear whether the person, who is a prime accused of several human rights violations, will sincerely work to bring change in the nation.

However, next year onwards, on every February 21, Zimbabweans can celebrate their leader’s birthday, with an additional joy of public holiday.
