The Zimbabwean political crisis, which reached a bad state after the expulsion of Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa who was regarded as the heir to President Robert Mugabe, has reached its peak, with the country’s army led by General Constantino Chiwenga seizing the country’s national broadcaster, ZBC.

The political observers say that the political tug-of-war between President Mugabe’s young wife, Grace Mugabe, who has the support of the Zanu-PF party’s youngsters, and expelled VP Manangagwa, who has several supporters among the veteran leaders, is the real reason behind the unpleasant situation in which the nation has fallen into.

Immediately after the successful execution of the military intervention, the Zimbabwean army officials, who have led the operation, have claimed that it is not a military coup. They have added that the President, as well as his family members, is safe.

Some International media representatives have informed their respective editors that they have heard the sound of gunfire near the official buildings where the President and top elected representative live.

Some people, who are close to the faction led by Grace Mugabe, have asserted that we would not allow anyone to derail a democratically elected government.

They have added that the army is trying to justify their coup attempt by delivering false statements as they know very well no one would support the coup.
