Alex Murdaugh is accused of killing his wife and children by shooting them

Disgraced Attorney Alex Murdaugh of South Carolina was charged with murder on Thursday in connection with the murders of his wife and younger son, who were shot dead in front of their home more than a year ago.

Numerous criminal accusations against Murdaugh, who is already incarcerated, have accumulated in the months since the deaths of his wife Maggie, 52, and their son Paul, 22, in a shooting. But up until this point, he had not been accused of being involved in the killings of his wife and son.

Murdaugh is accused of murdering his wife with a rifle and his son with a shotgun, according to the indictments returned by a grand jury in Colleton County, the scene of the crimes. They don’t go into detail about how, following a 13-month investigation, authorities connected Murdaugh to the deaths. There hasn’t been a scheduled bond hearing, but one might reveal more information.
