JPMorgan Invests $5 Billion in US Strategic Industries

JPMorgan Chase has invested $5 billion in equity in industries critical to US economic and national security, as major banks seek to capitalize on rising demand for domestic manufacturing, energy infrastructure and resilient supply chains. The lender also revealed that it has financed approximately $230 billion through its Security and Resiliency Initiative since launching the programme a year ago, as part of its commitment to finance $1.5 trillion in US investments over the next decade.

The bank’s investments have supported companies across advanced manufacturing, energy, supply chains and defence-related technologies. Its equity investments span venture-stage, growth and later-stage companies, with a focus on next-generation defence technologies, distributed battery storage, automated manufacturing and emerging technologies. JPMorgan said its next phase of investment would prioritize expanding industrial capacity, strengthening supply chains and supporting industries essential to long-term economic resilience and national security.

Other major US banks are pursuing similar strategies amid growing investment in artificial intelligence data centres, critical minerals and energy infrastructure. Bank of America announced plans in August to invest $250 billion by July 2027 in US digital and infrastructure projects, while Morgan Stanley aims to facilitate approximately $1.5 trillion in investments over the next decade for technology and infrastructure initiatives.
