Anti-government protest jolts Slovakia

At least forty thousand Slovakians, mostly youngsters, have assembled in the Slovakian capital city of Bratislava to express their anger against the country’s government, which have failed to make any concrete development into the investigation of the journalist murder case.

Slovakian scribe Jan Kuciak, who was trying to expose the illicit relation between the country’s government and mafia groups, and his girlfriend were found murdered in his house recently.

Several people believe that the murderers have close relation with the ruling government led by Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico, towards whom the murdered journalist story, as per some people’s view, pointed.

Some opines that there were indications in the uncompleted report, which was published after the death of the journalist, that some top political leaders of the country have close relation with the mafia groups –the biggest threat faced by this European country at this moment.

Anyway, the protest, which has been organised in the national capital against the ruling government for the murdered couple, is one of the biggest dominations the country has ever witnessed since the fall of the communism.

Almost all of those assembled for the protest have unanimously called for the end of the mafia regime which is leading the country at this moment.

A free speech activist says that all societies should pressurise their governments to make them articulate a feasible policy for the protection of journalists.
