Ford Recalls 148,663 Mustang Vehicles in U.S. Over Power Loss Risk

Ford is recalling 148,663 vehicles in the United States after a wiring harness issue was found to potentially cause a loss of driver power and disable critical functions, including headlights and the windshield washing system. The recall, announced by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on Tuesday, covers 2024–2026 Ford Mustang vehicles.

The affected engine-compartment wiring harness ground connections may malfunction, potentially causing a loss of drive power and disabling the windshield washer system, headlights, air conditioning and engine cooling fan. The loss of power or reduced visibility could increase the risk of a crash. Ford dealers will replace the affected engine-compartment wiring harness ground terminals free of charge.

The latest recall follows another Ford safety action in June, when the automaker recalled 91,198 vehicles in the U.S. because their daytime running lamps could fail to dim. The issue could reduce visibility for other drivers and increase the risk of a collision.
