At Red Line stop in the South Loop, a man was robbed and assaulted; suspects are in jail.

A guy was robbed and assaulted early Wednesday morning at a Red Line station in the South Loop.

A 25-year-old man was in an elevator at the Roosevelt Red Line station shortly before 1 a.m. when four men entered and threatened him with a knife, according to police.The males seized the victim’s backpack and wallet before striking him in the face and escaping northward on the Red Line, according to the victim.The four males were apprehended eight stops later, at Clark and Division streets.

The individual will most likely recover.Over the last ten days, there have been at least seven CTA attacks. Between 200 and 220 unarmed security personnel should now be on the system 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
