Authorities from the Los Angeles Police Department have arrested D4vd, a 21-year-old musician whose real name is David Burke, on suspicion of murdering 14-year-old Celeste Rivas. The arrest comes months after the teenager’s decomposed remains were discovered in September 2025 inside the front trunk of a car registered to Burke. The vehicle had reportedly been parked for weeks in a Hollywood Hills neighborhood before being towed to an impound lot, where workers noticed a strong odor.
Celeste Rivas, who lived about 70 miles southeast of Los Angeles, had been missing for nearly 18 months before her remains were found. The case gained widespread attention after media reports linked Burke to the vehicle shortly after the discovery. Police had confirmed an extensive investigation was underway at the time but refrained from filing charges until now, citing the need for sufficient evidence.
D4vd rose to fame in 2022 after his music, including the viral hit “Romantic Homicide,” gained traction on TikTok, leading to a record deal with Darkroom/Interscope Records. Following his arrest, Burke is being held without bail, and his case is set to be presented to prosecutors. His attorney, Blair Berk, has not issued a fresh statement but previously maintained that no publicly disclosed evidence connected her client to the crime and stressed his legal rights during the investigation.
