Comprising a collaborative effort between the university’s Population Research Center and the economics department, the PWI delves into matters of fertility, population trends, and their ramifications on economic growth.
The Population Wellbeing Initiative has projected a sobering scenario based on declining fertility rates, suggesting that “humanity is four-fifths over.” The initiative contends that unless a reversal occurs, there exists the potential for a distressing “depopulation with cruelty.” Elon Musk’s support extended beyond the financial realm, as he also funded a two-day PWI conference last year, albeit without disclosing his involvement to the attending academics, according to a Bloomberg report.
