Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill faced a harrowing afternoon as firefighters battled a blaze at his sprawling mansion in Southwest Ranches. The incident unfolded on Wednesday afternoon at the 16000 block of Berkshire Court, where firefighters were seen diligently working on the roof to contain the fire, emitting heavy plumes of black and white smoke.
Prompt response from multiple fire crews arrived just before 2 p.m., finding the mansion engulfed in smoke while everyone who had been inside the home had safely evacuated. Tyreek Hill, who was away at Dolphins practice, rushed home upon hearing the news, confirming the safety of his family and pets.
Initial reports suggested the fire may have originated from a single room, causing extensive damage to the property. Despite the distressing scene, Hill’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, reassured the public that while there’s significant damage, Hill is physically unharmed and intends to rejoin his teammates soon. He was spotted at the scene, wearing a leg brace that reached his left knee, overseeing the aftermath of the incident alongside his family.
The mansion, boasting 9,326 square feet of living space on a 2.28-acre plot, suffered a gaping hole in the roof and substantial smoke and water damage. As investigators aim to determine the cause of the fire, fans rallied around Hill, expressing concern and support for their beloved player. Despite the ordeal, Hill is reportedly mentally coping and is anticipated to play in the Dolphins’ crucial game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday as they contend for the AFC East title and home-field advantage in the upcoming playoffs.
