Harry and Meghan wish Kate ‘health and healing’

Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, expressed their heartfelt wishes for the health and recovery of Catherine, Princess of Wales, following her recent cancer diagnosis. They conveyed their hope for Catherine and her family to find healing privately and peacefully during this challenging time. Catherine herself described the news as a significant shock after enduring a tough period. Although specific details about the cancer haven’t been disclosed, Kensington Palace has stated her confidence in making a full recovery, despite the cancer being discovered after abdominal surgery in January, which was initially unrelated to cancer.

Notably, Harry flew to London in February to be with his father, King Charles, who also received a cancer diagnosis, indicating the family’s ongoing health challenges. However, during this visit, Harry did not meet with his brother, Prince William. In a subsequent interview, Harry expressed gratitude for the time spent with his father and acknowledged the potential for health concerns to bring families closer together.

Following the announcement of Catherine’s diagnosis, the White House, through press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, extended wishes for her full recovery while emphasizing the importance of respecting the royal family’s privacy during such times.

Relations between Harry and his brother William have reportedly strained since Harry’s decision to step back from royal duties. Harry’s memoir, “Spare,” detailed his conflicts with William, and the brothers have been seen together infrequently in recent years. However, there have been occasional public appearances, such as their joint greeting of crowds outside Windsor Castle after the Queen’s death. More recently, both brothers participated in a London awards ceremony honoring their late mother, Princess Diana, albeit separately, with William giving a speech in person while Harry joined via video link from California.
