Hunter Biden Files Lawsuit Against Former Trump Aide Over Unauthorized Release of Private Materials

In a legal maneuver aimed at defending his privacy, Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, has filed a lawsuit against former Trump White House aide Garrett Ziegler. The lawsuit, filed on Wednesday, alleges that Ziegler and others violated federal and California privacy laws by accessing and publishing private photos, emails, and documents from a hard drive purportedly belonging to Hunter Biden. This marks the latest development in Biden’s legal strategy to combat what he views as invasive attacks on his personal life, stemming from the controversial laptop incident.

Garrett Ziegler, who had previously worked as an aide to Trump White House trade adviser Peter Navarro, has been a central figure in efforts to expose elements of Hunter Biden’s past through a dedicated website. The lawsuit claims that Ziegler and unnamed defendants obtained sensitive materials by hacking into encrypted data on Hunter Biden’s devices and subsequently uploading them to Ziegler’s website. Hunter Biden’s legal team asserts that the defendants have refused to cease their unlawful activity, prompting the legal action.

Hunter Biden is seeking a jury trial, damages, an injunction to prevent further unauthorized access to his data, and the return of any unlawfully obtained materials. This lawsuit follows a previous legal action against a Delaware-based computer repairman, John Paul Mac Isaac, whom Hunter Biden accused of invading his privacy by accessing and distributing his private computer data in 2019. Mac Isaac, however, claims that he obtained the information legally and that Biden himself abandoned the laptop in his possession. The legal battle underscores the ongoing scrutiny of Hunter Biden’s past and the contentious intersection of politics and personal privacy.
