Israeli Airstrikes Hit Beirut and Gaza, Killing Civilians Amid Escalating Conflict

Overnight Israeli airstrikes lit up the Beirut skyline, targeting Hezbollah positions as loud explosions echoed across southern suburbs. In Gaza, a deadly strike on a mosque and a school sheltering displaced civilians claimed at least 26 lives and wounded 93 others. Israeli forces stated the strikes were aimed at militants but did not provide evidence, while Lebanon reported more than 30 strikes.

The conflict, a year after Hamas’ deadly attack on Israel, has expanded to Lebanon, where Hezbollah has been exchanging fire with Israeli forces along the northern border. In Beirut, Israeli airstrikes targeted areas near the international airport and Hezbollah-run locations, with residents describing the night as terrifying. In Gaza, Israeli forces launched a new offensive in Jabaliya, intensifying ground and air operations.

Casualties continue to mount, with Gaza health officials reporting nearly 42,000 Palestinian deaths since the war began, with women and children accounting for over half of the fatalities. Displaced civilians in both Lebanon and Gaza struggle to find refuge as the violence escalates.
