Ketamine Queen Faces Sentencing in Matthew Perry Death Case

A Los Angeles drug dealer known as the “Ketamine Queen,” Jasveen Sangha, is set to be sentenced on Wednesday for her role in supplying the ketamine that led to the death of “Friends” actor Matthew Perry in 2023. Sangha, 42, pleaded guilty in September to five felony counts, with federal prosecutors seeking a 15-year prison sentence. They argue that she knowingly expanded her drug trafficking operations despite being aware of the serious harm her actions could cause.

Defense attorneys, however, are requesting a sentence of time served, emphasizing Sangha’s efforts toward rehabilitation. In court filings, they noted her history of substance abuse and stated that she has maintained sobriety and actively participated in recovery programs since being in custody from August 2024. They contend that she has taken full responsibility for her actions and demonstrated meaningful reform.

Medical examiners concluded that Perry, 54, died from the acute effects of ketamine, which caused him to lose consciousness and drown in a hot tub at his Los Angeles home. Sangha admitted to supplying 51 vials of the drug to intermediary Erik Fleming, who then distributed them to Perry through his assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa. Prosecutors say Iwamasa administered multiple injections leading to Perry’s death. Both Fleming and Iwamasa have also pleaded guilty and are awaiting sentencing later this month.
