“Ketamine Queen” to Plead Guilty in Matthew Perry Death Case

Jasveen Sangha, 42, infamously known as the “ketamine queen,” has agreed to plead guilty to federal charges in connection with the death of Friends star Matthew Perry, U.S. prosecutors announced on Monday. Sangha, a dual U.S.-British citizen, was accused of running a narcotics “stash house” in North Hollywood and supplying the lethal ketamine dose that killed the actor in October 2023. She faces multiple counts, including maintaining a drug-involved premises and illegal distribution of ketamine, with potential prison sentences ranging from 10 to 20 years for each count.

According to the Justice Department, Sangha supplied 51 vials of ketamine to a go-between dealer, who then delivered them to Perry through his personal assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa. Prosecutors said Iwamasa injected the actor with at least three shots of the drug before finding him lifeless in his hot tub. Medical examiners concluded Perry, 54, died from acute effects of ketamine combined with other factors that caused him to lose consciousness and drown. Perry, who openly battled addiction for decades, had reportedly been sober for 19 months prior to his death.

Four co-defendants, including two physicians, Perry’s assistant, and an intermediary, have already pleaded guilty to related charges. Sangha’s plea deal also acknowledges a prior case where she supplied ketamine to an individual who fatally overdosed in 2019. Authorities said that after Perry’s death, Sangha attempted to erase incriminating communications from her phone. Her formal plea is expected in the coming weeks.
