Country music sensation Morgan Wallen was taken into custody Sunday night after an incident at a Nashville bar led to felony charges, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department. The 30-year-old singer faces three counts of reckless endangerment and one count of disorderly conduct following his actions at Chief’s, the six-story restaurant and bar owned by fellow country artist Eric Church. Police reports indicate that Wallen threw a chair from the rooftop of the establishment, which then landed on Broadway, narrowly missing two police officers.
Wallen’s legal representative, Worrick Robinson, has confirmed the arrest, stating that Wallen is fully cooperating with the authorities in this matter. The artist, who recently commenced his One Night At A Time Tour with a performance at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, has had his bond set at $15,250. Wallen is scheduled to make a court appearance on May 3, amid his concert dates in Nashville from May 2 through May 4.
The arrest comes at a time when Wallen’s peers were celebrating their achievements at the Country Music Television Awards in Austin, Texas. Despite being nominated for best male video of the year with his music video for “Last Night,” Wallen lost to Jelly Roll’s “Need a Favor.” This incident has undoubtedly cast a shadow over what has been a notable period in Wallen’s career.
