The Chinese President, Xi Jinping, who recently persuaded his party members to pass a law to let him hold the string of power of government and party either as long as he wishes to do so or as long as he lives, has, projecting his fearlessness, warned Taiwan and Hong Kong while delivering the closing speech of the National People’s Congress.
In his speech, he has said that his government would not allow any kind of separatist activities in his country.
There are clear indications in his speech that the Chinese government is seriously observing the growing separatist activities in Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Meanwhile, while speaking in the house, the Chinese premier, Li Keqiang, has asserted that his country is committed to the progressive policy of global-cooperation on trade.
Experts say that the Chinese government’s pledged commitment towards globalisation is appreciable and laudable, particularly in this juncture of time when the leader of the so called West, the United States, is showing no enthusiasm to protest the framework of globalisation which it once guarded and preached loudly.
They add that the statement of Chinese premier that his government will allow global players to do business in the country in fair terms creates confusion as there is no explanation for what the communist government mean by the word ‘fair term’ anywhere in the statement.
