North Korea ready to participate in the meeting organized by South Korea: Report

As per the latest report, the North Korean government has agreed to send their officials to participate in the meeting organised by South Korea to discuss the possibilities of admitting the iron curtain country’s representatives in the Winter Olympics, which is going to take place in PyongChang.

Earlier, the North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un, during his New Year speech, expressed his country’s willingness to restore the friendly relation between his country and its neighbor, with whom his country is technically at war at present, and to send his country’s representatives in the Winter Olympics, which is going to take place in a country which have close relation with Japan and the United States (which has been trying all possible ways to isolate the communist nation since it initiated steps to strength their nuclear and missile capacity).

Subsequently, South Korea welcomed the positive signal sent by their angry neighbor, and initiated steps to convene the meeting to discuss the matter even if the registration process for those participating in the Winter Olympics was technically closed.

It is learned that in order to give more room for the discussions with the North, the South has even postponed the scheduled military drill with the United States and Japan.

Anyway, the proposed meeting between the Koreans is likely to take place at Panmunjom (popularly known as the Peace Village) (the demilitarized zone exists between them).
