Sean Kingston and Mother Plead Not Guilty to Fraud Charges

Rapper Sean Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, pleaded not guilty to charges of defrauding multiple businesses of over $1 million during a Monday arraignment before Broward Circuit Judge Ernest Kollra. The Sun Sentinel reports that the bond remains $90,000, unchanged from a previous hearing. The duo faces charges of organized fraud and grand theft.

The charges stem from accusations that Kingston and Turner defrauded several companies, including a jewelry store, a luxury bed manufacturer, a used luxury car dealership, and a high-end microLED TV company since October 2023. Kingston, whose real name is Kisean Anderson, was arrested in May after a SWAT team raided his Fort Irwin, California, home on a warrant issued by the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

Kingston, known for his 2007 hit “Beautiful Girls,” and his mother are scheduled to return to court on October 11. They also face related charges in federal court, with further proceedings pending.
