Shooting a sharp allegation levelled against the top congress leaders, Punjab Chief Minister reminds the old party that the 1984 Sikh carnage’s wound has not healed yet. The congress party, which is eyeing a revival in the Sikh’s soil, has been muted by the old taint. Hundreds of Sikhs were killed in the anti-Sikhs riot, which erupted after the unexpected assassination of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi by her Sikh bodyguard. Several Sikhs groups still allege that the top congress leaders were the conspirators of the crime, and the party had tried to protect the criminals. Last day, after putting a foundation stone to a new police station, Punjab CM recited the same allegation against the Congress He further added that the grand old party is trying to ‘protect and honor’ the perpetrators of the heinous crime. Badal ensured that his party had strongly raised the issue in the national and international stages, and will continue to fight until the guilty is punished. While clarifying the latest development in the issue, Badal informed public that the ruling NDA government has assured to consider the Sikh’s plea at the earliest. Meanwhile, while Medias asked about the political vendetta allegations, he rubbished the allegation and termed it as groundless. While concluding the meeting speech, he said that the peace will enable our nation to secure an extreme development.
