According to a statement released on Thursday, the State Department will pay up to $10 million for information leading to the identification of foreign meddling in American elections.
According to a press release from the department, it is seeking information that will help find or identify “any foreign person, including a foreign entity, who knowingly engaged in or is engaging in foreign election interference, as well as information leading to the prevention, frustration, or favourable resolution of an act of foreign election interference.”
Database manipulation, bot farm operations, and harmful online activities are a few examples of this. The announcement of the incentive comes before the 2022 midterm elections, which will decide which party controls the House and Senate.
