Three U.S. F-15 Jets Downed by Friendly Fire in Kuwait; All Crew Safe

Three American F-15 fighter jets were shot down over Kuwait in a friendly fire incident, the U.S. military confirmed Monday, though no casualties were reported. U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said the aircraft were mistakenly targeted by Kuwaiti air defense systems while operating in support of Operation Epic Fury. All six aircrew members ejected safely, were quickly recovered, and are currently in stable condition.

The jets crashed amid intense regional hostilities involving Iranian aircraft, ballistic missiles, and drone attacks that U.S. and allied forces have been working to intercept. Kuwait’s defense ministry earlier reported that several U.S. warplanes had crashed on its territory, prompting immediate search-and-rescue operations. Authorities evacuated the pilots to hospitals, confirming their condition as stable, while Kuwait acknowledged the accidental engagement and reiterated support for ongoing coalition operations.

The incident occurred on the third day of the escalating Iran war — a joint U.S.-Israeli campaign referred to as Operation Epic Fury by Washington and Roaring Lion by Israel. Iran has retaliated with missile strikes targeting Israel and neighboring Arab states. CENTCOM also reported that three American service members were killed and five seriously wounded in separate attacks in Kuwait, while Iran’s Red Crescent stated that 555 people have died in Iran. President Donald Trump said the military operation would continue “until all of our objectives are achieved,” which could take up to four weeks.
