Fifteen people were injured in a tram accident at Universal Studios Hollywood on Saturday evening, according to Los Angeles County officials. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. when the last car of a four-car tram struck a guard rail while making a left turn in the studio’s backlot, near the “Jurassic Park Cars” exhibit. The collision caused several passengers to be ejected from the vehicle, resulting in non-life-threatening injuries for all involved.
Los Angeles County Fire Department responded quickly to the scene at 3900 Lankershim Boulevard in North Hollywood, providing on-site medical treatment. All injured passengers were subsequently transported to local hospitals. Initial investigations by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) suggested a mechanical failure, but this was later ruled out. The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation, with authorities confirming that neither alcohol nor drugs were factors.
Universal Studios Hollywood expressed their concern for the affected guests and emphasized that safety remains their top priority. The Studio Tour resumed on Sunday with a modified route as the investigation continues. Universal Studios officials are collaborating with public agencies to review the incident and ensure such accidents are prevented in the future.
