Trump Slams FBI Director Over Comments on Pennsylvania Rally Incident

Former President Donald Trump criticized FBI Director Christopher Wray for doubting whether he was struck by a bullet during a Pennsylvania rally on July 13. Trump, using his social media platform Truth Social, called out Wray for his statement during a Congressional hearing, expressing frustration with the FBI’s handling of the incident. “No wonder the once storied FBI has lost the confidence of America!” Trump wrote, emphasizing his disapproval of Wray’s leadership.

Wray had suggested uncertainty about whether Trump’s ear injury was caused by a bullet, shrapnel, or glass, a statement that Trump vehemently denied. The former president insisted that the injury was a bullet wound, as confirmed by the hospital. Trump also took the opportunity to criticize President Joe Biden, referring to him as “crooked” and accusing the FBI of focusing on political targets instead of real threats to national security.

Trump’s remarks followed Wray’s testimony to the House Judiciary Committee, where he discussed the incident involving a 20-year-old gunman, Thomas Matthew Crooks, who fired eight bullets. Trump’s social media posts highlighted his ongoing grievances with the FBI and its current priorities, arguing that Wray’s doubts about the incident were emblematic of the agency’s broader issues.
