U.S. Woman Files Lawsuit Against Tristan and Andrew Tate Over Alleged Coercion and Defamation

A U.S. woman has filed a civil lawsuit in Florida accusing internet personalities Tristan and Andrew Tate of conspiring to coerce her into sex work, luring her to Romania, and defaming her after she testified against them before Romanian authorities. Identified as Jane Doe for safety reasons, the 23-year-old plaintiff and her family were granted anonymity by the court.

The lawsuit marks the first such case against the Tate brothers in the United States, as reported by The New York Times. The complaint alleges that the brothers sought to “bully and harass” Doe through a previous defamation lawsuit they filed in 2023. Joseph D. McBride, a lawyer for the Tate brothers, denied the allegations, stating there was no evidence of human trafficking by his clients and that the truth was on their side.

The Tate brothers, former kickboxers with U.S. and British citizenship, have been embroiled in criminal and civil cases in Romania and Britain on charges including organized crime, human trafficking, and money laundering. A Romanian court recently lifted Andrew Tate’s house arrest, imposing lighter restrictions pending an ongoing investigation. Despite legal setbacks, the brothers maintain their innocence.
