US man killed by car as he helped ducks cross road in Rocklin

A man named Casey Rivara, aged 41, tragically died after being hit by a car in Rocklin, California. According to local police, moments before the collision, Rivara was seen helping a family of ducks cross the road. Witnesses reported that he ensured the ducks reached safety before he was struck by a teenage driver. The incident occurred on Stanford Ranch Boulevard, and no arrests have been made thus far.

One witness, Summer Peterson, stated that her children observed the collision and initially found Rivara’s act of helping the ducks adorable and kind. However, the situation quickly turned tragic when he was hit by the car. Floral tributes and rubber ducks have been left at the site of the accident to honor Rivara’s memory.

According to an online fundraiser set up by his relatives, Rivara was driving his children home from swim practice when they noticed a mother duck and her ducklings struggling to cross the busy intersection. The fundraiser describes Rivara as a compassionate individual, stating that even in his last moments, he displayed his kindness. His wife, Angel Chow, expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support and kind messages they have received.

The Rocklin Police Department is still investigating the incident, and no criminal charges are expected to be filed against the teenage driver, as stated by Rocklin Police Captain Scott Horrillo.
