Elon Musk has been subpoenaed by the US Virgin Islands in a lawsuit against JP Morgan Chase, which is accused of enabling Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking activities. The subpoena requests any documents revealing communication between Musk, JP Morgan Chase, and Epstein.
It is important to note that Musk himself is not accused of any wrongdoing in the case. The Virgin Islands government alleges that trafficked women were abused on Epstein’s private island and accuses the bank of failing to act on warning signs.
The attempt to serve Musk with the subpoena has been unsuccessful so far. The filing suggests that Epstein may have referred Musk to JP Morgan, but it does not provide further explanation for the interest in obtaining documents from Musk. Musk has denied receiving financial advice from Epstein and called him a “dumb crook.” JP Morgan Chase denies knowledge of Epstein’s crimes.
